American Buffalo Gold Coins

The American Buffalo Gold Coin was available for sale by the United States Mint on June 22 in 2006, to meet the needs of investors who sought investment in the form of pure gold and gold bullion. The Buffalo Gold Coins are the first pure gold coins minted by the United States Mint. The 2006 Buffalo Gold Coin will carry a higher price for coin collectors as it was the first year produced. The 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coin Proofs will carry the highest numismatic value of the American Buffalo Gold coins. If not graded, they will reflect a slightly higher premium to the gold spot price..

American Buffalo Gold Coin values have the same price structure as the U. S. Mint’s 22-karat Gold Eagles, the world’s best-selling gold bullion coins. This makes the American Gold Buffalo Coins as cheap as any new gold bullion coins being minted although I have seen a slightly higher premium (to gold) associated to these coins due to there “newness”.

American Buffalo Gold Bullion Coins are sold by the United States Mint to authorized purchasers based on the current price of gold plus a small premium to cover minting, distribution and marketing costs. You cannot purchase directly from the mint; but you have to purchase from these authorized purchasers (normally coin dealers). Your outlet for purchasing these gold coins will be from coin dealers and Ebay below.
