British Sovereign Gold Coins

Remember watching the James Bond movies and seeing the small bag of gold coins? They were British Sovereigns.
Did you know pilots carried British Sovereign Gold Coins during WWII in case they were shot down? British Gold Sovereign Coins have been recognized and used as legal tender throughout the world. Small in size (about the size of a nickel) and weighing .2354 troy ounces, they were and still are easy to transport.
British Sovereigns were struck worldwide during the heyday of the British Empire. Starting in 1816, these Gold Sovereigns were the most widely distributed gold coin.
Today, British Gold Sovereigns are still being hoarded and traded throughout the world. They are not collected for their numismatic (coin collecting) value, but as gold bullion. You will find the Gold Sovereign price is held slightly above the gold spot price. Many believe this is the perfect coin for safety and turbulent times.
You will find them here on Ebay and with Gold Coin Dealers throughout the world. Always determine the premium you are paying over the spot price (The premium is the amount charged over the current spot price). This should help keep you from overpaying.
